About DRD

Rick Eutsler, Jr. - Owner

I've been working as a computer consultant, networking consultant, and web consultant for the last 11 years. I've worked sales, performed all manner of installations & support, etc.

I have, configured, designed, and maintained ISP services using Livingston equipment (PM3 for v.90 and isdn) and Windows NT 4.0 servers. For our clients, mostly law firms, I have designed and maintained their networks, and handled all manner of hardware and software issues. I'm very proficient with IIS 4, MS FrontPage: including but not limited to access database integration, Windows NT server & workstation, all forms of office productivity software and contact management software, all forms of Windows desktop software (3.1x, 9x, 2000, etc).

What I bring to the table is a significant level of expertise not only in the "technical" aspects of computers, networks and the Internet, but also my experience with one on one dealings with clients. One of my primary functions is as a liaison between hardware/software vendors and the client. In other words, I can talk tech when I need to, or English, depending on the situation.

I love helping clients direct and utilize their resources in the most efficient manner. Whether it is helping them to invest in technology to advance their business or helping them to better use the internet. I want them to see a Return On Investment. I enjoy web design and network design (lan or wan) the most.

RESUME

I started working as a receptionist in January 1994.  In February 1994 I was promoted to secretary.  I continued to work as a secretary until 1997 when I went to London on a 2 year working holiday visa.  During this time I worked as a Secretary as well as Human Resource Administrator for some prestigious companies (including Ernst & Young).

In 1999 I returned to South Africa from my 2 years in London and I was employed as a Secretary/Web Page Designer for a small company in Johannesburg, South Africa.

I then moved to America and married Rick and learnt as much as I could from Rick with regard to the 'behind the scenes' designing of websites.

Along the way I have trained a lot of people to use Microsoft software packages (Word, PowerPoint and Excel in particular).  I am proficient in the aforementioned MS software packages.  I have also learnt MS FrontPage and am currently learning Macromedia Flash & Swish.

Since I am a South African citizen, my second language is Afrikaans which I can read, speak and write.  This helps me to understand basic Dutch and German and has allowed me to do some translating.

My previous experience includes:

Personal Assistant

  • As a Secretary and Personal Assistant it was required that I have exceptional communication skills, language skills and typing skills.  My last typing speed test, I typed 85wpm with 100% accuracy.

Software Support

  • I am passionate about computers and have always enjoyed assisting people with their computer problems.  I have always found software support very rewarding.  I have also trained many people over the years in the use of MSOffice packages such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel.  I trained myself on the MS Office packages and love learning new packages.

Web-page Design

  • In 2000 I designed the African Bank Intranet site on MS FrontPage.  (The first one I'd ever done).  Since arriving in the US I have designed a few websites (see list below).  I currently work with Microsoft FrontPage and am learning to use Macromedia Flash and Swish.

Other skills

  • I am always eager to learn new things and am a very dedicated, loyal, hard worker.  I believe you only get out of a job what you put into it.
