Content is King p1
Have we
mentioned before that “Content is King?” Of course we have! I’ve
talked to several potential new clients and current clients about
how to bring more traffic to their web site. Everyone I talk to
seems to want the “quick fix.” You can have the “quick fix.” The
question is, will it last? Driving high numbers to your web site
is really not that hard. The difficulty comes when you are trying
to get customers, not just “unique visitors.” What is more
important: 10,000 unique visitors with no sales, or 1,000 visitors
with sales. I’m sure you all have gotten the spam email, someone
guaranteeing “top placement” in the search engines and millions of
“hits.” Once they take your money, where is the guarantee, and who
is to say that the “hits” you are getting are the ones you want?
So what is the real answer to
attracting the visitors you want? Developing a successful site
takes time and a lot of communication. The bottleneck, without
exception, we experience developing web sites is the limited input
and efforts from our clients. We want your site to be successful,
and we need your input and ideas so that your web site becomes an
extension of your business’ personality, why people already do
business with you. This is why we continue to say that “Content is
King.” Not only do search engines base a good deal of their
indexing on the physical content in your site, it is from the
content on your site that your potential customers will gain a
perspective of who you are and how you do business.
When building your site, you need
to think like a customer. Whenever I make a major purchase, I care
more about the people I’m dealing with than the bottom line price
of the purchase. How does it help me to save money if there is
nothing but air standing behind the product. You need to convey a
sense of value above and beyond just the “good deal” you have
listed on your site.
This ends part one of this article.
In part two, we will look at some simple ways to improve your
site’s content to help capture the visitors your business is
looking for. In the mean time, if you’d like to talk to us about
your site and generating more meaningful traffic, please give us a
call at 1-843-835-5624.
